Synopsis: The storyline is set in Naru, The Great Northern Plains, around 1719. She is a young Comanche girl who wishes to be a hunter like her brother Taabe despite being schooled as a healer. When Naru sees what she thinks is a “thunderbird” in the sky. This, she reads, is a sign that she is ready to prove her worth as a hunter. As she joins a group led by her brother in order to hunt a mountain lion. They soon come upon a beast considerably more lethal than anything they’ve seen before.
